I wanted to have a discussion about skin texture and not having “perfect skin” or “perfect features”
So I’m coming up to to the BIG 40 now and my skin has been through a lot, as has many peoples, so you know – it has lines it has texture and it has little imperfections on it and all of that is completely normal.
I don’t have lip fillers, in fact I don’t have any kind of injectables or had any cosmetic surgery if any kind to be honest, I’m actually terrified of that – what if something went wrong?!?!
For a while now, I’ve wanted to write this post to let you know that that having normal skin, wobbly bodies and having imperfections is completely normal and it should be shown more on social media.

We are constantly bombarded with images of perfect skin, hair, bodies, teeth and the perfect face, but that simply just doesn’t exist – editing, airbrushing and manipulation all play a part in creating these images we compare ourselves to.
I do wish people would put disclaimers on these edited images, as it’s not healthy! Hopefully platforms will in time start to flag these unrealistic posts, or at least have an option to mark as edited.
I just wanted to – almost for my own insecurities show that having lines, blemishes, gaps in your teeth, thinner lips, skin texture and scars is normal and let’s not even talk about my thin eyebrows that that have been plucked to within an inch of their lives back in the 90s – but this is NORMAL.

I mean what we see on social media is literally THE BEST snippets of peoples lives and peoples bodies – the editing apps are just insane these days, and you just can’t believe what you looking at on the screen. Eff Your Beauty Standards.
I really hope this post can help you understand and see what’s normal and I will continue to use my blog and social media to always show real skin. I never use any filters on any of my videos or photos because l’m not about that.
Let’s all just be happy in the skin we in and remember learning to love yourself is linear and it does take time, but you will get there – you are beautiful and unique and you do not need to look like everybody else on the Internet!
If we all looked the same, think how boring the world would be!
