This just might be the cutest makeup trend I’ve seen in a long while. The TikTok famous bunny tongue trend started over on the Chinese social media app Douyin ~ where Douyin makeup (also a huge TikTok trend) originated, this app is where a lot of content creators seek makeup inspiration from. So many viral makeup products and trends have come from that app, it’s a mecca for all things makeup.
So how did this trend start you wonder? Well this super cute trend was started by a user on the Douyin app – they had spotted the colour of a bunny tongue in a photo online and instantly thought it would be the perfect shade of pink for a gloss and sought out to find a match. They then begun combing the internet high and low for the perfect match to the adorable bunny’s tongue shade. Who would have thought we would be matching our makeup to bunny tongues. What next internet.
The closest match came out as Outrageous Plumping Lip Gloss in Pink Pout from Sephora – BUT this isn’t cruelty free, which is kind of ironic as a lot of testing is done of rabbits and searching for a makeup item which has probably been tested the same animals tongue you are trying to match – seems kind of off to me!
Influencers flocked to TikTok to share their own finds and some of the most popular shades came out include the NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss Non-Sticky Lip Gloss in the shade Crème Brulee and the Tower 28 Beauty ShineOn Lip Jelly Non-Sticky Gloss in the shade Coconut ~ I love these options and they are both cruelty feee too!
I wanted to try and find my own matches online – all cruelty free matches so this is what I have managed to find around the internet as the best matches to the cute pink bunny tongue. What do you think?
