So today I’m going to be reviewing one of the Wonder’Last Shadow Sticks from Rimmel London. If you don’t know, quite a while ago Rimmel became certified cruelty-free, so that is absolutely amazing news. I love that they have finally joined the cruelty-free party and can use them again!
These shadow sticks are great, and I have the shade Starshine Dream, which is a really beautiful taupe silver – the most perfect grungy sort of shade. I absolutely love this. It’s so easy to use as well, so let’s get into the review.
price, size & where to buy
You can buy these eyeshadow sticks from Superdrug and Boots which is where I would recommend buying most things, and I believe they are on Amazon as well. They have a dedicated Rimmel shop on Amazon, and they are priced at £8.99 and sometimes going sale for around £6. They are super affordable, and for the amount of product you get, I think that’s great, especially considering how easy they are to use.
formula, texture & first impressions
The texture of the eyeshadow stick is really creamy, super easy to use, and it glides onto the lids with no pulling or friction – just a really easy glide. The payoff is incredible too. They’re super pigmented. I only need a couple of swipes to get full pigment, and the staying power is great. Once you’ve applied it, you can add powder on top of it, or you can leave it by itself. They have really great staying power. I’d say at least eight hours, or a good full day’s wear.
how to use
Super easy to use. Either glide it directly from the eyeshadow stick onto your lid, or you can use a brush if you want a really light wash of colour. I prefer to go in straight with the stick and then use a brush or my fingers to smudge it or put the shade where I want it to be.
ingredients & key benefits
The key benefits of this product for me are the ease of use, the affordability, the fact it’s cruelty-free, and that the product lasts all day. I love the shimmery effect as well. I really love glitter eyeshadows, and it’s just the perfect one-and-done eyeshadow.
final verdict: would i recommend it?
I would absolutely recommend trying this product. I have a couple of shades, but I believe I have a matte shade of this as well as a shimmer. The shimmer, for me, is just it. I think it’s absolutely beautiful. I’ve shared a video in this post below, to show how it applies as well. It’s just so easy to use, and I don’t like spending a lot of time doing my makeup, so for me, an eyeshadow stick is just grab-and-go. Just brilliant.
