Over the last few months I have been really favouring a light coverage foundation or skin tint on makeup days, I mean I work from home so I’m not applying a full beat daily, so something light and airy is my go to choice if I want to look somewhat decent for a zoom call. Which is where the new skin tine from Typology comes into play.
typology skin tint serum
It can be quite tricky to find a good skin tint, which provides cover and has skincare benefits. Typology, if you haven’t heard of them, are a french skincare brand, they offer affordable and high quality natural skincare products. Recently they released a new Skin tint serum, which blurs the makeup and skincare lines.
The skin tint serum comes in a cute glass dropper bottle, which I really appreciate as it’s easy to gauge the amount you are using and not ‘over apply’ you get 30ml in the bottle, which is a decent, standard amount.

Enriched with vitamin c, squalane and aloe vera the skin tint is hydrating and nourishing for the skin, your skin will look and feel radiant, healthy and fresh. It’s vegan, cruelty free, 99% natural and free from fragrance, silicones, nanoparticles, parabens and more. You can read about their blacklisted ingredients here.
the shade range
I have the shade type 1 fair, which is the lightest shade available. I have to admit when I first saw their shade range, I noticed it is somewhat limited, and it would be great to see that increased in the future.
There are currently have 6 shades available, and although these shades can work for multiple skin tones due to the lightweight nature, more shades, especially deeper shades, would be appreciated. The shade range is based on Fitzpatrick Phototype Scale. So according to this scale, there should be a shade to suit everyone, but I cannot speak for every skin tone, as I am light skin-toned.

will it work with my skintype
Typology say that the serum is suitable for all skin types and I would agree with this, it is hydrating enough for dry skin and for oilier skin you would possibly need to give a light powder. the serum doesn’t feel too oily on the skin, even with the added squalane, which I was really happy about.
how to apply
Personally I love using my hands to apply products and I think this is the best way to apply this product, but a brush or beauty sponge would also work. I find using my hands to apply to tinted serums and my favourite cream blush/highlighter melts all the products into the skin so much better, it leaves a beautiful dewy finish on the skin. The serum applies evenly with no streaks, and gives a light coverage which is perfect for daily use.
Please don’t expect this skin tint to cover dark circles and blemishes as this is a tinted serum, not a full coverage foundation.

final thoughts
As I said I am really enjoying a lighter coverage at the moment and this skin tint really hits every nail on the head for me, it looks natural, fresh and radiant, and with an extra bonus of skincare ingredients.
To add a little more coverage you can also use a little concealer on blemishes and dark circles, the Revolution conceal & define is a great choice, as it’s not too heavy but has incredible coverage. Read my review here.
As you can tell, I am a huge fan of this skin tint serum and even if you prefer a fuller coverage base I highly recommend checking this out, as you might just be surprised.
