This is a paid advertorial but all thoughts are my own.

Are you sleeping on switching up your skincare routine during autumn?(or fall if you are American), well you shouldn’t be.
Autumn is my favourite season with the beautiful leaf transitions and cosy evenings, but it also brings with it crisp, cold air and the blast of central heating, which can cause havoc to our skin.
Switching up your skincare routine during autumn and winter can really save your skin troubles.
Skin can react badly to weather changes and the cold air can quickly dry out skin, leaving it tough, sore and prone to rashes, blemishes and even increasing the chance of wrinkles, it’s such a great idea to use more hydrating and thicker consistencies during the colder months to protect your skin barrier from the elements.

Below I’ve put together 6 useful some tips you can use during autumn to keep your skin healthy, hydrated and protected.
use a gentle cleanser
I love to use an oil base cleanser to remove my makeup. The Rosehip Transformation Cleansing Oil from Trilogy has been a winner with my skim recently, it is really gentle and easily lifts away makeup, grime and impurities. Simply massaged into dry skin add water to emulsify and clean away with a cloth.
If I notice any drier patches after cleansing, I apply some of the Trilogy Everything Balm, which is great for dry skin, eczema and even using as a moisturiser, a true multi use product.

use skin brightening products
Hemp is a fantastic addition to your skincare routine, it adds much needed hydration, keeps skin plump and moisturised throughout the day. I like to add a few drops Hemp oil to my moisturiser for an added juicy boost.
I’ve the last few weeks, I been testing and using the Triology Hemphip Balancing Oil daily and it is just beautiful, it feels lovely on the skin, smells incredible, almost a slight hint to citrus, which is really refreshing, my skin loves this oil and it’s great to use before makeup, as it leaves the skin lovely and soft, smooth and bouncy,

use a thicker moisturiser
Moisturiser has to be my favourite step of a skincare routine and literally I’d bathe in it all day, if I could. I am a huge fan of a creamy, thick moisturiser (all year round).
If you like a thinner consistency moisturiser or gel usually, it would be worth while trying a thicker cream moisturiser during Autumn to keep your skin hydrated, nourished and to lock in any moisture.
use a moisturising body wash
When you shower you are essentially removing the protective oils that keep the skin hydrated during the day, so using a good quality, hydrating body wash is a great way to add the moisture back into your skin.
The Botanical Body Wash from Trilogy contains Rosehip (one of my favourite ingredients!) kawakawa and amla which all aid in moisturising the skin and leaving it feeling clean, soft and smooth, helps that it also smells divine too.

apply eye cream
Keeping the eye area hydrated is really important during autumn as the air is so cold and when you are outside your eyes are directly exposed to this and it’s can really dry out and irritate the sensitive skin around eyes, invest in a thick hydrating eye cream or gel to protect those peepers.
continue to use spf
Just because the sun isn’t blessing us anymore with it’s presence anymore, doesn’t mean you can skip your spf. No sir! U
Upto 80% of UV rays can still get through to your skin even on cloudy days and remember they can even penetrate through windows if you are inside, so being indoors is still not a excuse. Wear your spf.
spf is the most important part of any skincare routine and should be the last step before applying makeup. You need to apply a minimum of two full fingers of product and don’t forget your ears. I have been loving this Clean Screen Mineral spf 30 from REN Skincare recently, it melts into the skin and doesn’t leave any white cast.

What switches will you be making to your skin are routine this Autumn? All products mention are available from Very, are cruelty free and vegan.
