It’s that time of year again where we have all vowed to make “resolutions” I actually hate that word, it’s so vague. I instead prefer to set myself a few smaller, achievable goals throughout the year. There is so much pressure to make changes in the New Year, which is a great thing, yes, but change for the better can be made all year round not just when the clock turns 12:00 on 1st January. I personally try to sway away from making goals like going to the gym etc, as we all know gym memberships go up over 50% in January and then plummet in the months following, so why not set yourself some a few little goals that you can build on throughout the year?
One of my main goals this year is to reduce my living waste and live more sustainable. I’ve been switching products and the way I live throughout 2019 and I want to continue this into 2020, for example I have been using reusable cloths, cotton rounds and cotton totes to go shopping with. I’ve also started using environmentally friendly DIY cleaning products and ethical/organic makeup and skincare. I wanted to share with you some products which would be a great start to zero waste living in 2020.
Some favourites
I’m currently loving some goodies I was sent from net zero company, they are a sustainable and eco friendly brand with lots of bamboo products and are at the forefront of plastic replacement products. I kindly was sent over their bamboo hairbrush, cutlery set, titanium lunch box and metal water bottle to try. I have been loving all of these, especially the bamboo hairbrush, its amazing how the little things can make such a big different.
Plastic is the most pervasive man-made material ever, throwing something “away” doesn’t really mean away; it’s still on Earth… just out of your vision. So if you want to help contribute to a world with less plastic, you are in the right place!

Great recommendations! I really want to start using more eco-friendly beauty products! I have a bamboo lunch box, which I loved but it’s cracked over time and I need to find a replacement!

Awww that’s awesome. The brand Net Zero sell a really cute tin lunchbox, it looks really vintage like, super cute & image it would last forever x
I love reusable coffee cups, but what I really need is a bamboo hair brush like yours!
I love reusable cups too. The hairbrush is lovely isn’t it! Bamboo everything haha! We have a bambo spoon we use for coffee and it has the PERFECT Measurement! 😊😊😊😊
I love now finding eco friendly items instead of buying things we can chuck away. My friend recently crocheted me some face pads and I love them!
Oh that’s awesome, I use reusable ones and they are so nice, super soft too! 🌿😌
I’m using a bamboo toothbrush and metal straws, but I didn’t even know there was a bamboo hairbrush option and I kind of want one.
Love these products! x
Thanks lovely 🌿 x

It’s so aesthetically pleasing isn’t it 🌿
i love this post, i’m big on eco friendly, so got some new ideas! x
Your so welcome 🌿
I’d LOVE to see a post on your DIY cleaning products! That’s something I haven’t changed in my lifestyle yet, mainly because my mum comes back to visit a lot of the time (and it is her house I’m living in lol) and she’s very much in control of the cleaning 😂 everything has to be just right! I think I could convince her to change her products, though. I use a lot of cotton shopping bags, reusable cotton pads, and things like metal straws and water bottles. I’m trying to be way more sustainable this year, too ☺️

Oh awesome I’ll definitely put one together. Yay! It’s the small things that matter, we use cotton bags for our weekly shop, we’ve collected about 8 now, so no plastic bags at all 😍 we use bamboo cutlery aswell ~ love it so much! I also have a bamboo toothbrush haha! Obsessed! Xx
I’m trying to be a lot more sustainable this year too! Especially with clothing and reducing my plastic usage 😊 I’m looking into bamboo products more, especially things like cutlery sets and lunchboxes so I can reduce my plastic use when I start uni this year ☺️ great post!!

I love bamboo products, we have bamboo toothbrushes, spoons, forks, love it! Also we use reusable coffee cups, glass/recycled plastic. There are so many simple changes we can all make & it’s so fun discovering some great brands on the way ~ 🌍🌏🌎
Hello,
I was wondering if you bought or you were gifted the products from Net Zero Company?
Because I got some stuff not long ago and they haven’t arrived yet. They sent me a mail with my tracking number and when i look for it, the following msg appears:
**No information about your package. Package has not been sent yet or you entered invalid tracking number.**
I read also in other webs that is a scam and other people hadn’t received their stuff also.
So I wanted to check if you have any new info about this?
Thank you
I was gifted these products. And they arrived quite quick if I remember rightly.
Have you tried emailing the company or dm,ing on Instagram? Maybe they can offer a solution.
I haven’t heard anything about them being a scam, I have spoke to the company many times via email and received all my products 🙂
Hope you manage get get it sorted. X
Ok, Thank you.
If I have any news I’ll inform you. 🙂
Great. I’ve just checked their website and says they are experiencing delays due to the current situation. I am not sure if their products are shipping from the US, so may take a while xx
I live for Zero waste. Something I started is that I switch my hairbrush to a bamboo one (over time the Ions would stop working so it important to replace the hairbrush once a few years depend on the use) and I switch my toothbrush to a bamboo and it work perfectly if not better than the plastic toothbrush. I do DIYS too when it comes to cleaning from cleaning house products to makeup removers.

Love my bamboo toothbrush, so much softer when using too. Also have a bamboo hairbrush, which is amazing! I love making diy cleanser with lemon 🍋 xx
I’m always trying to live a more eco friendly lifestyle and these are great suggestions!

Awe that’s great, glad it can help x
I loved this! I’ve also trying to be less wasteful this year and have made a lot more use of tote bags, reusable bottles, shampoo bars and starting to delve into the world of sustainable fashion xx

That’s amazing, we have so many totes, we use them for shopping every week, they come in so handy xx
I am working on making our home more environmentally friendly. I make many of my own skincare and cleaning product. Getting rid of plastics and single use products is my next step so I appreciate the recommendations. Thanks for sharing your favs!
Awe that sounds great, I’m definitely going to be making some skincare, it sounds really fun too x
One of the resolutions I started I think it was 2019 is to practice the low buy (similar to no buy) with the cosmetic product and it helped me on changing the perspective when it came to buying make-up. Now I only use what I have and I currently use coconut oil or just olive oil when it comes to removing make-up with reusable cloths plus I now use shampoo and conditioner bar.
Michelle| http://www.brokebutflawless.com
That amazing, so many good changes! 🙂
Since 2019 I also started swapping plastic for non-plastic products. I personally use a bamboo toothbrush and I like it same goes for my bamboo hairbrush and my bar shampoo & conditioner from Lush. One of the challenges I started doing by mid-late 2019 is to shop more locally and buy more second-hand clothes.
No one is perfect but doing small changes can lead to a better impact.

This is amazing, I love bamboo products, we both have bamboo toothbrushes and bamboo hairbrushes and combs. We also use ethique solid shampoo and conditioner 🙂 Etsy has been a favourite place of mine to shop recently xx
I definitely need to add these to my list 🙂 I too am trying to promote a more ethical and zero waste lifestyle! I am loving it so much so far and I’m discovering so many awesome brands.
