I am an absolute Matcha latte noob and whilst I’ve had a pot of Matcha powder in our cupboard for a while now, I’ve not known what to do with it or how to use it. Enter Bird Blend matcha powder, this tea company offers a variety of delicious matcha blends, I have Peach Cobbler and Raspberry Choco Rocket ~ I think this is a great way to start your matcha journey as it can be quite an acquired taste at first.

So, this weekend when I was casually browsing YouTube, as you do and I came across a recipe for a quick Matcha Latte, I’ve always been intrigued to try it, but heard it can be quite earthy and takes a few tries to get used to it, but I’ve also heard that everyone who drinks Matcha Lattes is literally obsessed with them.
After watching a few videos on how to make Matcha Lattes, I am inspired and go straight online to buy a mini electric milk frother for the grand sum of £4.99 on Amazon (you can hand whisk but this is easier, quicker and makes the best froth) and I am ready to go ~ this little whisk is literally the best thing I’ve brought in a while! It makes a banging cappuccino too!

This recipe is so quick and simple, it’s great for your morning drink ~ Matcha contains a decent amount of caffeine so give you a little boost but always delivers a calming effect so it’s the best of both worlds. This recipe takes under 5 minutes to make the tastiest, frothy matcha latte that will trick anyone into thinking it was made in a cafe.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Bird Blend Peach Cobbler matcha powder
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 teaspoons sugar, or to taste
- 250ml hot oat milk ( or any plant based alternative)
How to make
Sift the powder into a cup. Add the water and sugar and whisk with either an electric or bamboo whisk into a thick paste and make sure there are no lumps. Warm oat milk on hob (don’t boil).
Add the oat milk and whisk until frothy and serve your Matcha Latte goodness. Simple!
