I’m going to get it out of the way first, a must have when you are a blogger is Instagram, it’s a great way to show of your creative side and your brand. I have loved Instagram for many years and is by far my favourite app, Its definitely a must-have. Additionally, here are my top 5 free apps you should download as blogger.
Dropbox
This is an absolute must have for me, I have shot so many photos and videos as during career as a blogger, that I need that extra bit of storage, as my iPhone get full so quick! It’s a great free way to save all your files, photos and videos, love that you can organise everything into folders so they are easy to find.
It’s a great way to keep track of invoices too!

Adobe Lightroom
Lightroom is my go to photo editing app, I love how easy it is to use, you can edit every aspect of you photo. It’s also great for creating your own presets so you can create a cohesive and beautiful feed. I tend to simply up the brightness/contrast on my photos these days and don’t have a “theme” per say.
Snapseed
Another favourite photo editing app of mine is Snapseed, which is slightly similar to lightroom, with a few different options. I like to use this to heal and clean up any blemishes and dust smudges on my photos. I also love the selective tool where you can choose a specific area of a photo and can change the brightness/contrast etc on one section of a photo, very handy! Love it and this is a firm favourite with many bloggers.

Retouch
A new favourite of mine is Retouch, this app is AMAZING. Picture this, you’ve taken an amazing photo and then you noticed someone has peeped into the background, with this app you can easily remove objects with one click, it’s hands down the best app for object removal and healing I have used. You can also remove lines and heal small sections of photos. Definitely a must have for any bloggers.
Ash
Instagram Stories are a huge part of my blog/Instagram, they are a great way to interact with your audience and other bloggers. I regularly update them with blog posts/pr unboxings etc and I am always on the look out for chic story templates. You can find some of the most stylish templates in the Ash app, they are absolutely stunning, the star design is my favourite. I currently use the free version where you get a small selection of templates or you can upgrade for £4.99 a month to get all the templates.

Those are my favorite apps – what are yours? Let me know in the comments below.

These are all great apps. I love Snapseed. I really need to get Dropbox as I have so many photos and I normally have a copy of each blog post just in case but it takes up so much room on my laptop! Ash sounds great I have never come across it before but I will need to check it out!
Ash is one of my favourites, it has some beautiful designs on there. I got to the point where I ran out of Dropbox storage lol, but I managed to clear it out again!
Beyond Instagram and Adobe Lightroom, all of the others were new to me! So I am really glad to have read this post, I learned a lot! The visual aspect of blogging is probably my weakest link right now, so I suspect these apps will help me greatly. Thank you!
Awwww that’s amazing. Glad it helped. If you need any tips, feel free to DM me on Instagram.com/kabukirune always happy to help xx
Thank you for sharing! I love the colors on your blog btw.
Awwww thank you so much xx
My biggest problems are uneven light, so one corner will be a bit brighter than the other, and then there’s also unsightly grouting where tiles meet a work surface or tiny peeling corners of wallpaper in the background (that looks okay IRL but awful when close up in a photo). Which app would you suggest I get?
I really like the app ‘Retouch’ which is amazing at removing unwanted details etc. Snapseed is great as you can select a specific area you want to lighten/darken etc, so that would work well for your issue xx
Great post! I absolutely love Snapseed, don’t think I could live without it 😂 VSCO is another one of my faves too!

Dropbox is essential for getting photos from my phone to my laptop. It makes it so much easier to write my blog posts when the pictures are ready and waiting for me to use. Also as a new blogger I really love Canva and feel it gives my blog a more personal and professional touch
Canva is amazing, I use it for so much, stories, YouTube thumbnails, and even my media kit x
