how to use
Achieving an even, flawless tan is all about proper preparation and application. Here’s how I applied mine for the best results:
step 1: prep your skin
Exfoliate thoroughly 24 hours before applying. I used a gentle body scrub to ensure a smooth base. Shave or wax in advance if needed. Moisturise dry areas (elbows, knees, hands, and feet) to prevent the tan from clinging to rough patches.
step 2: apply the tan
I used a tanning mitt for an even application, working in circular motions. The mousse has a deep violet guide color, making it easy to see where you’ve applied.
The texture is lightweight and dries quickly, which I love ~ no sticky feeling! I left it on for eight hours for maximum depth. You can rinse it off earlier for a lighter tan.
step 3: rinse & maintain
After eight hours, I rinsed off the excess tan with lukewarm water (no soap) and gently patted my skin dry.
The tan developed fully over the next few hours, leaving a deep, olive-toned glow. To prolong the tan, I moisturised daily and avoided exfoliating products.

I started with fair to light-medium skin, and as you can see in my before picture, my natural tone leans slightly neutral but can pick up some warmth from self-tanners.
The final result? A deep, rich olive tan that looks natural. There was no orange tint, and the violet base truly made a difference in balancing my skin tone.
It’s definitely darker than Bali Body’s regular Ultra Dark mousse, making it perfect for those who want next-level depth.

What I Loved:

✔ Fast-drying & non-sticky – I didn’t feel uncomfortable waiting for it to develop.
✔ Long-lasting results – My tan stayed even for nearly a week before starting to fade gradually.
✔ Fades evenly – No patchiness, thanks to the hydrating ingredients.
any downsides?
The depth may be intense for fair skin – If you’re new to ultra-dark tans, you may want to try a lighter application first.
You need to exfoliate well before reapplying – Because it’s long-lasting, prepping your skin properly is key to avoiding buildup.
final verdict: the next evolution of ultra dark tanning?
Bali Body’s Deep Violet Self Tanning Mousse is a perfect if you are looking for an ultra-deep, natural-looking olive tan.
