Alright, it’s the New Year, 2020, the end of a decade, there no better time to have a nice ole freshen up of the home decor and what can be more exciting than creating your own bespoke gallery wall? We currently have 2 gallery wall displays in our home, one in our bedroom above the bed and another in our kitchen. I love how creative you can be whilst designing your gallery wall and it’s a fantastic way to express your individuality through images, posters or photos.

Desenio offer some of the most gorgeous options for your new gallery wall, especially the stunningly chic Studio Collection which is a collection of photo posters exclusive to Desenio, the Desenio creative team visited various locations around the world and captured their characteristic features through a camera lens. Also available on the Desenio website is a handy online gallery wall tool, so you can see see your design in real-time before committing to it buying, this is such a great idea and avoids any measurement or image clash blunders.
I’ve put together 5 simple tips below to help you design the perfect gallery wall for your home. Hope these can help inspire you to create and design your very own gallery wall.

The Perfect Wall Space
This is quite important and ties into a point I’ll mentioned below below, you don’t want to choose a space that will look too crowded or out of place or not be seen. You want to choose a wall space that is highly visible, as you’ll definitely be wanting to show off all your hard work to everyone.
Choose Your Theme
Got to love a good theme, whether it’s tropical, skylines, black and white or nature, its always good to have even a loosely based theme. For example if you love black and white prints, you could opt for city skylines and nature photography prints as they will still all be black and white but not limit yourself to just skylines. I have a quote theme in our kitchen and s cat and unicorn theme in the bedroom and I love them.
Mix it Up
I have a variety of different sizes and shapes to our gallery wall in the bedroom. My preference is I like my decor a little mis matched and that is reflected in my style choices, I love how the wall doesn’t look in a perfect shape and there are different sizes and styles of prints.

Don’t Limit Yourself
This ties into my previous point about choosing the perfect wall space. You don’t want to choose a wall space is too small, as I can guarantee you will want to expand your gallery wall, so you want some growing room. Try and choose a large wall for example, the wall behind a bed is a great choice.

Experiment with Textures
I mentioned previously about having different sized prints, I also love to experiment with different textures, I have wooden frames, canvas prints and hanging frames, I love how different they look together but at the same time they work, so don’t be afraid to experiment and create something unique.
WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE TO DISPLAY ON YOUR GALLERY WALL, HAVE FUN WITH IT.
