Juvia’s Place Festival Collection

Happy Snow Day

I am sure many of you are aware of Juvia’s Place, as they are massive in the beauty community, they are well known for their super pigmented eyeshadows and they have now started making liquid lipsticks, which is so exciting, especially for me, as I am a die-hard super fan. I own all their palettes.

As you can imagine I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the Festival Palette to launch, I had the date in my diary, on reminders and in my notes app… I was that keen to snap it up, when they announced they were having a pre-sale, I am beyond happy. I snapped it up, and I ordered the collection, which comes gift boxed with the palette and 2 liquid lipsticks.

About The Palette

As with all Juvia’s Place palettes, you get HUGE pan sizes, so much product and I know I will not hit pan on these for a very long time. The shades are so unique, even the names are but just look at that red it is just amazing – its so hard to create a true, bright red, without using un cruelty free methods, but Juvia’s place have nailed it! Also, I tested, and the red doesn’t stain skin, to remove just use an oil-based cleanser and it comes right off! I always find I have problems with reds staining so I thought id share that tip.

On to the other shades, you get 4 shimmers and 5 mattes. The mattes are so pigmented and blendable and it contains the perfect transition shade Mmanwu, which is a beautiful peachy/nude shade, this really ties the palette together and makes it super wearable. I just love how bright and happy this palette is, and even if you just want a small pop of colour in your lower lash line, this palette would be great for that! Or for some more bold looks.

The packaging of the palette is the same theme as all other Juvias place palette, a nice sturdy cardboard design (minus a mirror, but as they are so affordable it does not matter in my opinion!) and brightly decorated with beautiful, powerful looking women, I love the look of the palettes and they are so slim, so ideal for travelling.

The shades in the palette;

• Izafa – Berry red

• Uli – White with silver shimmer

• Ofala – Vibrant red

• Mmanwu – Peach

• Iri Ji – Bright pink

• Oro – Mustard

• Keleke – Black with silver shimmer

• Aba – Turquoise with silver shimmer

• Odogwu – Beige with silver shimmer

The liquid lipsticks available in the festival collection are Soil – which is a burnt orange and DuDu which is a darkened brown. Both liquid lipsticks dry down to a matte finish, they apply full pigment in one swipe and take only a few seconds to completely dry down. Soil is definately a more wearable shade for me, personally, as it seems to suit my skintone a lot. DuDu is a little more daring, as this is a very dark brown shade, it looks amazing on, but I don’t know if I have the confidence to wear this one, it would be PERFECT for darker skintones!

Since buying these lipsticks, Juvias place have released lipstick duos, which is amazing, as I love the formula of these lipsticks, I feel I will be buying more of these in the future.

The Verdict

This is an amazing palette and lives up to all the claims of being super pigmented (as you can see from the swatches) and easily bendable, they colours are so unique, and I have nothing like it in my collection. The liquid lips are also just stunning, I am not sure how much use I would get out of DuDu myself, but it is a really unique and interesting shade. I love Soil it’s the perfect burnt orange shade and really suit my skintone. The collection retails for $38, you do have to pay customs to get this in the UK, but it was only £13.01 when I collected mine.…. I don’t believe the collection is available in the UK just yet, but the single palette is on Beauty Bay if you do decide to invest in this palette/collection, you will not be disappointed!!!! I promise!
