Slow Cooker Gingerbread Latte

This is a post I have been wanting to write for a while but I had one missing ingredients – A slow cooker. But yes as of 4pm today WE HAVE A SLOW COOKER now, which is super exciting and its going to be a game changer for us. Jak loves to good wholesome meals and I love soups and clearly coffees, his mum kindly brought us this one for Christmas…. BEST GIFT EVER! I had the day off work today and I have been planning to make this all week.

Naturally the first thing I want to try out is some fancy coffees, I found a receipt from Cookierookie.com and was obsessed and had to try this out. You really need to check out her site, as not only is her photography out of this world, there are so many quick and easy recipes to follow.

I did adapt the original recipe slightly as wanted to add a little more sweetness to the lattes. For anyone who has a slow cooker you know its super easy to cook anything, you basically just chuck everything into the cooker and away you go. For the latte, I just let it cook on a low heat for 2-3 hours, and stirring every half hour. 

Ingredients needed

• 2 mugs of strong Coffee
• I used 1.5 litres of Whole Milk
• 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
• 3 tsp Brown Sugar
• 2 tsp Ground Ginger
• 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
• Pinch of Cloves
• 2 Cinnamon Sticks
• 1 tsp Nutmeg

Plus squirty cream and and some crushed golden grahams to top

• Place all ingredients into a slow cooker, and let it simmer on a LOW setting for 2 hours.
• Make sure to stir often during cooking, every 30 minutes worked for me.
• Remember to give it a good stir before serving each latte.
• Top it with squirty cream and some crushed golden graham. VOILA!

Honestly this was so fun to make, and this recipe actually makes around 6 cups, so its great if you have friends or family round, or like us just REALLY love coffee!!!
