As a sufferer from oily skin I have tried too many makeup primers, it is a constant battle with my foundation to stop it from sliding down my face all day. I’ve tried and tested a lot of primers and feel I have finally found my favourites, so I wanted to whittle it down to just my favourite three to share with you.
As I said I do have oily skin, so these are best for my skintype and are very mattifying. So they may not work for you or other skintypes,
but these are my personal oily skin holy grails!
No Poreblem Primer
I first heard about this primer on Jeffree Stars YouTube channel. It’s a Korean brand which has blown up the beauty world. I found this on eBay for £9 ish, it did take around 3 weeks to arrive, so be aware of that. But it is totally worth the wait, the product comes in a glass bottle with a pump and you get 30ml of product. It’s a pink lotion consistency, it feels really soft on the skin, and is the perfect base for foundation as it blurs pores and lines. It keeps my oils at bay and my makeup matte all day!

Kiss Prime of your Life – Light reflecting Primer
I didn’t know Wilkos did a cosmetics line when I brought this, it wasn’t until after I actually brought this and did some research I realised this was Wilkos own brand, which is called Kiss. This is available for £3 from Wilkos. It has amazing reviews on their site, which s what lead me to buying it. It honestly helps keep my makeup looking fresh and oil free for around the 7-8 hour mark, which is fantastic for a product at this price. you get 30ml of product, which is a great amount. I am defiantly going to repurchasing this when I run out!
The Kiss smoothing light reflecting primer contains Silica spheres to diffuse light and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. With conditioning and antioxidant Vitamin E, Apricot oil and Baobab oil to moisturise and soften skin.
Urban Decay Pore Perfecting Primer
I am sure you have seen this one posted about before, as this is a classic and well know great primer. It was one of the first high end products I actually brought. I had researched so much on what primers are good for oily skin and this one came up multiple times, so i decided to try it. I love the thickness of this primer, I like to apply this to just my t-zone, as I think its too heavy (personally) for all all over my face, its a skin colour lotion that blends right into the skin, leaving it feeling so smooth and pore blurred to perfection!
This is the most expensive primer on the list, it is £23 for 30ml. I dont use this one all the time, only when I really need mattifying, or I am using a heavier foundation. It keeps oils at bay all day and is the perfect base for foundation, would recommend this if you are on the look out for a higher end primer to try!
Smooth on a little of this primer from Urban Decay before foundation (or alone!) to minimize the look of pores and fine lines – for flawless skin with an airbrushed look and feel. Foundation applies smoothly and won’t fade away. This formula is ideal for oilier skin, but dry-skinned types seeking pore perfection will love it too.
This velvety, paraben-free formula flashes down to a soft-matte finish without the greasy, heavy feel sometimes associated with foundation primers.
