Hi Loves,
Bit of a different post today – thought I would share some of my little DIY and cheap/around the house options for makeup storage and makeup brush holders. I have a few options to share with you today that won’t break the bank and in face can be created with items you may have around the house already.
I don’t know about you, but I am always on the lookout for new (cheaper) ways to store and display my makeup and brushes and I am constantly changing the colour scheme or way I display them. I do like to have all my brushes (you never know what you may need) and everyday makeup on display on my vanity…there is something about seeing all my brushes and my favourite/everyday makeup products on my vanity, that makes me feel super happy…. It’s the simple things in life hey….
Iphone Box Compact Makeup/Highlight Holder
So my first DIY storage solution I have is a simple compact makeup/blush or highlighter holder, this will work with standard compact sizes and can fit around 8 in the box. It is simply an old iPhone box…. I have painted mine a lovely dusty pink, but you can leave it white or spray paint, colour in however you want, it looks great on my vanity and is super handy for holding all my favourite highlighters in one place.

Ice Cube Tray Single Eyeshadow Holder
I have a really cute idea for holding single eyeshadows or as I have found out, Colourpop eyeshadows fit perfectly in the little grooves also. The item I used for this is an Ice Cube Tray, I have used a white plastic tray from Wilko’s and the groove seem to be a tad little larger than the standard clear ones you get, but these are around £2 each and hold 12 Colourpop eyeshadows easily, they look so neat and you can fill drawers with them and organise all your eyeshadows, I love them I have 3 in one drawer and can easily see all the colours from the trays, which is great!

Mug Makeup Brush Holder
Mugs are another great option for holding makeup brushes, and you can get them in all kinds of colours, shapes, sizes and designs, they look super cute on vanity’s and can hold a lot of brushes. Plus if you every want to change your design, you can also use it for a coffee, so it’s a win win situation. I am currently using a cute blue polka dot mug to hold some brushes.

Vase/Glass Mug Brush Holder
I’ve also found that old vases or glass cups/mugs work well as makeup brush holders, I am currently using an old round vase that housed a succulent, which for the life of me couldn’t keep alive, so I thought I could put it to use as a lovely brush holder and it looks lush. I was using a Jack Daniels glass before I used this one, which looked equally as good!

So, there you have it, just a few little easy DIY ideas for you. Just goes to show you don’t have to shell out on all the fancy acrylic holders, which in my option are overpriced, and why have a clear plastic cup, which so many people have, when you can use a unicorn mug!!!!! Just saying…
As always thank you for reading and your continued support.
