So you’ve probably seen the new ROUGE DIOR FOREVER LIQUID SEQUIN lipstick all over social media, it’s doing the viral rounds. BUT Dior isn’t cruelty free. They still test on animals and we do not support that over here.

It might be news to some but in fact Dior is NOT the first brand to come out with a transforming glitter lipstick. Ciate and Lottie London did it first, Ciate released their glitter flip lipsticks years ago, but unfortunately they don’t seem to be available anymore, which is a shame as they were lush and cruelty free. The Lottie London glitter switch lipsticks are still available here and are only £6.95.
Another thing I’d like to mention, is the price, the Dior lipstick is a whopping £39!! That’s insanely expensive! I love makeup, don’t get me wrong but I couldn’t fathom spending that on a lipstick! It’s a bit of an ick for me.

what you need
Soooo… me being me, decided to consult my makeup drawers and create my own transforming glitter lip… and it’s so easy to do, the trick is to have a matte MATTE! lipstick, one that’s almost drying… no crème or soft mattes here, you need it to be dry to activate the glitter.

how to create
I mixed a Barry M matte lip with some very fine copper glitter for Lit Cosmetics. Apply to the lips and an important step into wait at least 2-3 minutes until it is completely dry. Otherwise you have a patchy mess… the. After you press your lips together a few times the glitter magically appears…. It’s beautiful. Perfect for the festive season.

Doing this hack, you can actually create the lipstick in any shade you like and any glitter combination, I’m definitely going to try a holographic glitter, how lush would that look with a matte black lip!
Will you be trying this hack?
