So you have just started your blog and you want to boost your page views, Pinterest is an amazing tool to use for this. But during the set-up process it asks you to verify your website and yes, this sounds pretty daunting with the mentions of headers and HTML lark, I know, I know, but it honestly easier than you think. I think you will agree with me, that after reading this, the process of verifying your WordPress website on Pinterest is actually easier than you though it would be. If you follow these simple steps you can start increasing your blog views, it has really helped with my views over the past few months.

WordPress
You will need to download the plugin “Insert headers and footers” in your WordPress Dashboard. This plugin enables you to paste any code into your website’s header or footer section easily without having to delve deep into coding etc.
- Login to your WordPress dashboard
- Click “Plugins” in the menu on the left.
- Click “Add New” (towards the top).
- Search for “Insert Headers and Footers”. Enable it and activate to your website.
- When the plugin is enabled to your website you can find it in the “Settings” section. Click “Settings” and click “Insert Headers and Footers” in the submenu. You should now see a three text boxes, one of which is the Header box you will be needing.
Now open your Pinterest Business account
- Go to your Settings in Pinterest. (Three dots, top right corner.)
- On the left, click “Claim”.
- Enter your domain into the textbox and click “Claim Website”.
- Choose the HTML Tag option.
- Copy the HTML tag entirely.
- Back in WordPress dashboard, in the “Header” textbox, paste the HTML tag entirely.
- Click save.
Done! Your website should now be verified on Pinterest! It does take up to 24 hours to be claimed, so be patient. You will received an email like the below once your website has been successfully claimed.

You’ll know it worked when you see the world symbol next to your website link on your Pinterest account.
If you choose to NOT claim your WordPress website, then you seriously missing on an amazing analytic part of Pinterest, which shows you how well your pins are performing. I would definitely recommend doing this.
